Course Information

Introduction

This five-day course teaches practical methods for managing and improving supply chains. It covers forecasting, inventory policy, procurement strategy, logistics planning, and performance measurement. Sessions combine short lectures, worked examples and hands-on exercises using real operational data. Participants leave with tools they can apply to reduce stockouts, lower costs and stabilise flow.

Objectives

1. Map end-to-end supply chain flows, quantify lead times and identify primary bottlenecks.
2. Build demand forecasts with basic quantitative methods and convert them into safety-stock and reorder parameters.
3. Design and justify inventory and replenishment policies (EOQ, reorder point, service-level targets) and perform replenishment calculations.
4. Develop procurement and supplier strategies to reduce lead-time variability, manage risk, and improve on-time delivery.
5. Define and report supply chain KPIs, create simple dashboards and run scenario analyses to trade off service, cost and working capital.

- Participants are expected to engage in guided self-study, reading, or personal reflection on the day’s content. This contributes toward the CPD accreditation and deepens conceptual understanding.

Please Note:
- All training sessions are conducted from Monday to Friday, following the standard working week observed in the United Kingdom and European Union. Saturday and Sunday are official weekends and are not counted as part of the course duration.
- Coffee and refreshments are available on a floating basis throughout the morning. Participants may help themselves at their convenience to ensure an uninterrupted learning experience Provided if applicable and subject to course delivery arrangements.
